Detection Modes

The Axiom has four search mode options: Fine, Normal, Large, and Salt. Each search mode is optimized for specific types of detection, as detailed below.

The factory default mode is Good. Press the MENU button until MODE is selected, then use the Menu Plus (+) or (-) button to select the desired mode. Press the Power button to exit the menu, or press Menu to continue to the next menu item.

Raw Gold Mode

Provides maximum detection on small, low-conductivity targets (such as pure gold and gold samples) while providing the best detection of most medium and large targets.

Because of this increased sensitivity for small/fine targets, FINE mode can be more susceptible to ground minerals and hot rocks.

Normal Mode

Provides very good detection of all size targets.
Normal mode will be less reactive in highly mineralized soils, but will reduce detection of very small targets.

Large Mode

Maintains strong detection of large targets while reducing detection of small and medium targets. Most importantly, this mode reduces exposure to highly mineralized, hot, and terrestrial rocks.

Salt Water Mode

Designed for use in mineralized areas with a wet salt content, primarily for wet saltwater beaches. Salt Mode may also be useful for dry inland salt lakes and gold fields with high salt content, depending on the moisture content. However, it is recommended to experiment with other modes for these inland conditions.
